Richard Harry Brooks, a retired electrical engineer, passed away on Monday, November 28, 2022 at his home in Rock Hill.  He was 83.

The son of the late Fredrick G. Brooks and Dorothy G. Kurtz Brooks, he was born September 25, 1939 in Astoria, Queens, where he was raised.

After getting married, he moved from Queens to Orange County, NY.  While living in Orange and Sullivan Counties for many years, he was an avid fisherman and hunter.  He later moved to Stuart, Florida and retired there for 20 years before recently returning to Sullivan County.  He was a great father, uncle and friend to many people.

He is survived by his two children: Richard A. Brooks of Wantagh, and Suzanne Brooks of Rock Hill; and a brother: Robert Brooks (Kathleen) of Saugerties.

Following cremation, interment of his ashes will be held in the Spring at the Wallkill Cemetery in Middletown.
