Robert (Bob) Price was born and raised in the Southwoods area of Monticello, NY which if you are familiar, you know he walked 10-15 miles in the snow uphill both ways to and from school each day. Being the sixth child among ten of a prolific family at least means he never had to do that trek alone. Bob was outgoing, a hard worker, in the army in his early adulthood, became a well-driller, worked his way up at Deitch Shopwell to store manager, a position he served later at the Country Store on Rt. 42 in Monticello as well, spent quite a few years working for the Postal Service, and later at the Correctional Facilities amongst a few other positions over the years. As a long time member at Rock Hill Church of the Nazarene, he often served as a greeter. He met many people in his varied life commitments and remained pleasant and friendly, talking to anybody and everybody.

On January 14, 1956, Bob married the younger sister (Alice Virginia Mary Pero - AKA Ginger) to two of his best buddies (Joseph and Eugene Pere). They lived in a barn on her family’s property while they built a home of their own. Coming from that large happy family, they didn’t wait long to start their own, and welcomed the birth of their firstborn, Bob’s little Skipper, Robert Eugene, almost 13 months later. Following that triumph, they repeated the success in the years following with Dale Patrick, then Donna Maureen and lastly after a short reprieve, Cynthia Jean (nickname Cincee - but usually answered to SkiDaleDonnaCince from her parents). Bob and Ginger’s children took up the call and provided Bob with the expanded family he was used to.

Skip (m. Barbara Keller), Dale (m. Eva Klumpp), Donna (m. Ronald Deppa), and Cince (m. William (Bill] Michel) brought forth grandchildren: Jamie (m. Eric Fuller), Matthew Price, and Kellie Price, Caroline Beckett and Michele (m. Justin Brink), Rebecca (Becky) Deppa and Rachel (fiance’ Jason Schultz) Deppa, Jeanna Michel and Jeffrey Michel. Great-grandchildren - Lorelai and Lirael Beckett, and Eliza and Cady Brink. Adding to that Bob’s brothers and sisters and Ginger’s brothers and sisters, making the same effort, the family is so large, it is hard to identify all of us, but just large enough to have made the funny Dad/Grandpa jokes amusing.

Robert, Bob, Dad, Grandpa, Uncle and friend has passed now, peacefully on Friday, September 3, 2021. He was predeceased by his loving wife Ginger, his daughter Donna, most of his brothers, a sister and many in-laws and friends. He has gone to a better place to be with those he has been missing and waits, just beyond, for those who remain to join - in peace - in love - in happiness. Those of us who remain, miss him greatly. Take solace- remember the fun, the good times, the laughter- and we will meet again on that other shore.

Friends of Robert and Ginger are invited to a memorial visitation on Friday, September 17, 2021 from 6 to 8 PM at Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home, Jeffersonville, NY. Facial coverings will be required and social distancing guidelines will be in place! A formal memorial service will be held at a later date to be announced at the Rock Hill Church of the Nazarene.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Rock Hill Church of the Nazarene, that maintains a food pantry for those in need or donate to a charity of ones choice.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to StewartMurphy Funeral Home, Jeffersonville, NY, 845-482-4280. To send condolences or for directions please visit stewartmurphyfh.com.
