Roscoe Beer Co. celebrates eighth annual Winterfest

The line for beer stretched all the way out the door at Roscoe Beer Company’s eighth annual Winterfest event on January 28.

Known for its local craft beer and wintertime themed activities, the Winterfest was put on in part by the Roscoe Beer Company, the Roscoe Chamber of Commerce, and Sullivan Catskills Visitors Association.

The event drew in hundreds of people to the brewery to celebrate through the sunny Saturday afternoon and into the evening.

Live music played around the clock with the band Hillbilly Parade and musical act Albee & John Steffens. Attendees enjoyed outdoor activities such as a bean bag toss, giant jenga, horse drawn carriage rides, and watching live ice carvings by the Stump Devils Wood Carving from Liberty.

A large bonfire consisting of a pile of wooden pallets was ignited - keeping people toasty warm so they could continue to celebrate outside as the cold brews kept flowing even into the early evening.

Even though the Winterfest focused on the brewery’s signature alcoholic beverages, the event held good times for all ages. A number of young children enjoyed the day by playing in the sunshine, rolling up balls of snow to make snowmen, and enjoying hot chocolate.

“It was an amazing day and a great turnout,” Roscoe Beer Company Operations Manager Shannon Feeney said.

“We are just so happy to bring people to our town and have the entire business community be busy from the festival.”
