Roscoe earns national recognition for trout fishing

Posted

ROSCOE –– Field & Stream magazine recently published an article called the “5 Best Towns for Trout Fishing in the U.S.” which highlighted towns from California and Michigan.

The criteria for the locations selected included the quality of their local rivers, the ability to access different types of trout fishing without traveling far from a central location, year-round trout fishing and local fly and tackle shops to keep your supplies full.

Roscoe was listed along with Durango, CO, Bozeman, MT, Redding, CA, and Grayling, MI.

When discussing Roscoe, the article mentions the Beaverkill and Willowemoc, the world-famous trout streams located right in Western Sullivan County. It also mentioned that both the East and West Branches of the Delaware River are not far from Roscoe.

The article mentions how notoriously difficult the fishing is in Roscoe but how rewarding it can be.
