NARROWSBURG — Presented each year in the depth of winter, the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance’s Salon Series offers audiences the opportunity to gather within the warmth of their community and experience intimate performances and creative events in Krause Recital Hall, Krause Recital Hall, DVAA 2nd floor, 37 Main St., Narrowsburg, NY. The weekend afternoon events take place on Saturdays from February 1st to April 5th. Doors open at 1:30 for seating and concessions. These events are free and open to the public.

This year’s Salon Series includes intimate musical performances, a documentary film screening, poetry, performance art, and an afternoon of storytelling.

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 1st, 2 PM

The C Word

DVAA proudly opens its 2025 Salon Series with an intimate afternoon of story sharing and conversation, as three local women on different cancer journeys share their stories and discuss how to talk to people with cancer – The C Word.

How can we become comfortable talking about what gets spoken of in hushed tones and become able to embrace the uncomfortable? Using humor, candor, and collected wisdom Ramona Jan, Marla Puccetti and Teresa Tulipano bring us into halls of a select “club” that no one wants to be a part of yet is one that we all enter - directly or indirectly - at some point in our lives.

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 22nd, 2 PM

Join Or Die documentary screening with Q&A and pop-up local org fair

In this feature documentary, follow the half-century story of America’s civic unraveling through the journey of legendary social scientist Robert Putnam, whose groundbreaking “Bowling Alone” research into America’s decades-long decline in community connections could hold the answers to our democracy’s present crisis.

Flanked by influential fans and scholars — from Hillary Clinton, Pete Buttigieg, and Surgeon General Vivek Murthy to Eddie Glaude Jr., Raj Chetty, and Priya Parker — as well as inspiring groups building community in neighborhoods across the country, join Bob as he explores three urgent civic questions: What makes democracy work? Why is American democracy in crisis? And, most importantly… What can we do about it?

Following the screening and a Q&A with the filmmakers Pete Davis & Rebecca Davis, DVAA and Tusten Social will host a special pop-up fair where attendees will get to discover local organizations to get involved with.

***This event is made possible in part with generous support from the Wayne County Community Foundation.***

Clown Daddy is expecting a very distinguished guest, and preparations must be made! Join her as she sings, dances, and cavorts about with her puppet friends in readiness for who’s about to arrive. Enjoyable for all ages.

Clown Daddy, also known as Ellie J, is an actress-turned-clown blessed with a flair for physical comedy and a knack for puppet antics. Having trained at Atlantic Theatre Company in New York City and L’École Internationale de Théâtre Jacques Lecoq in Paris, she delights in testing the power of embodiment and catharsis in the organism of the performer. Her performances lean towards vaudevillian slapstick, with a dose of rich emotions and just a smattering of metaphysical humor.
