To the editor:

In regard to the letter to the editor published on November 29, “Mascots Deserve More Credit,” by Brent Lawrence, I could not agree more. Brent, you are 100 percent right. I graduated from Liberty High School in 1956. I competed in baseball, basketball, track, and cross country as a “Liberty Indian” during my four-year high school career and I am very proud to be one then and now. The trouble-making, “woke” infected bunch involved in the decision-making on this issue should be ashamed of themselves. Maybe you should go to the Dakotas and see if you can do something to interfere with the recent facial sculpture of “Chief Crazy Horse” looking out over the land he and our native Indians once controlled. This bull…. has got to stop. Most Americans try to preserve and respect tradition and history, not destroy it.

I am and always will be a proud “Liberty Indian” no matter what you anti-do-gooders try to manipulate. Go Liberty Indians!
