ONEIDA –– Garnet Health Medical Center - Catskills is currently in the process of looking for a new CEO.

Jonathan Schiller, who has served at the helm of the Harris hospital for the past five years, has accepted the position of President/CEO of Oneida Health and his last day at Garnet is June 3.

His duties in the new position will include leading the organization through their next phase of strategic planning and growth, to keep the organization well-positioned to continue to serve the needs of residents in central NY.

Garnet Health is currently evaluating candidates to fill Schiller’s position.

“I’ve been at our health system for 18 years, and fortunate to serve as CEO of Catskill for the past five years,” said Schiller. “In my time, the commitment of our staff to providing excellent care, and the support of the community to help us along the way, have made a lasting impression on me.

“The past two years during the Covid pandemic have been incredibly challenging for everyone, especially those in the healthcare professions,” he continued. “If we are at all to be considered successful over the past two years, it is because of our staff’s commitment, and the support of everyone in our community.”
