State Fair to Open August 24

Posted

It’s that time of the year folks when y’all start thinking about New York’s state fair and that  big opportunity to purchase $3 admission tickets and $5 parking tickets.

Tickets and parking tickets for the 2022 Great New York State Fair are now on sale through the Fair’s exclusive online ticket seller. The fair runs from August 24 to Sept. 5.

At $3, admission to the New York State Fair remains among the most affordable in the nation among state fairs. Admission remains free of charge   to people ages 65 years old and up, and children 12 years old and under.

“As part of our commitment to making sure that the fair is an accessible as possible to all New Yorkers, our team felt strongly that keeping admission across the board  at $3 was the right thing to do, especially as we continue to re-emerge from the endemic,” said interim Fair Director Sean Hennessey.

Tickets may be purchased online at nysfair.ny.gov Tickets may be purchased over the phone by calling toll free 1-800-514-3849 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday.

With fees, patrons’ total cost will be $3.19 per admission.

Fair goers should note there will be no cash sales at the Fair’s gates or in parking lots.

As for parking, $5 tickets may be purchased through Etix.

During the fair, Centro’s Park-N-Ride direct shuttle will return, providing passengers with transportation from the Centro Transit Hub downtown  to and from the Fairgrounds.  The fee is $1 for adults, $.50 cents for senior citizens, children 6-9 years old and people living with disabilities.....it should be noted that masks are required on Centro shuttles.
