Sullivan County Long Beards Annual Turkey Hunters Care Program

Posted

LIVINGSTON MANOR – The Sullivan County Long Beards (SCLB) annual Thanksgiving turkey giveaway took place on Friday, November 19 at Peck’s Market in Livingston Manor. The SCLBs Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation provided 128 frozen turkeys for distribution across the county. This is our opportunity to give back to the community that supports our mission and goals. Gathering in front of Peck’s Market in Livingston Manor were volunteer chapter members, representatives of churches, fire companies, schools, rotaries and the Sullivan County Veterans Coalition (of which the SCLB are an associate member) to pick up and deliver the donated turkeys. Peck’s Market of Livingston Manor, is our distribution center because they have been a faithful supplier of the turkeys for many years, thanks to Mark Shirdon, meat manager. Helping to make this program possible are financial contributions from Grahamsville Rod and Gun Club, Rotary Club, Sullivan Correction officers, and other anonymous cash donations. Thank you to all. Our prayers are with you, your family and our county during this difficult time. Sullivan County Long Beards are proud to be able to make this contribution giving back to deserving residents of our county and especially our Veterans.
