I hope this finds you and your loved ones healthy. We wanted to update all as to the latest news and developments from our office. As our region enters reopening phases, we will begin to resume services as safely as possible.

For those of you who receive home delivered meals through our office, you will continue receiving a direct delivery of ready to heat meals throughout the rest of this month, and we will be shifting to at least twice weekly delivery of meals starting in July. We will maintain the safest practices and offer a drop off/no contact- porch/front door delivery. We will update you when plans are finalized for this phase of meal deliveries. Our goal is to continue providing nutritious meals in the safest way possible and also resume some of the face to face contact as this is a vital part of ensuring your well-being.

Congregate Nutrition Sites and Shopping Bus will not resume until safest, which will be after our region enters Phase 4 of NYS PAUSE reopening.

We have resumed taking requests for Medical Transportation (in county only) at this time, and drivers and passengers both will be required to wear masks/face coverings. If a passenger does not have a mask/face covering, one will be provided to them. If a passenger refuses to wear a mask, they may not utilize our transportation services.

We are reaching out to all of our RSVP volunteer drivers that provide medical transportation to determine when we'll be able to resume those services. An abundance of caution as provided by “Matilda's Law” guidance is being adhered to as we phase in services as well.

If you need help from The Sullivan County Office for the Aging, continue to call our main number at (845) 807-0241 and someone will answer and assist you, Monday through Friday 8am-5pm. If you can't get through, you can also call the Emergency Community Assistance Center at (845) 807-0925.

We also want to remind you to be vigilant about scams and telemarketers that may target you, and make sure you don't give personal information over the phone to anyone you don't know or have an existing business relationship with.

If you qualify for an Economic Impact Payment (EIP), the government might mail you your money on a prepaid VISA debit card issued by Meta Bank.

The EIP Card is a Treasury-sponsored, VISA-branded, prepaid debit card that provides a safe, convenient and secure way for EIP recipients to access their Economic Impact Payments without having to go to a bank or credit union to cash a check.
