SULLIVAN COUNTY, NY – Kick off the New Year by safely exploring the outdoors!
Tired of getting caught in the rain without the proper gear or dealing with blisters without a Band-Aid? Borrow a Tracks & Trails Daypack from your school or library, and you can be prepared. The daypacks are packed with essentials you need for a safe and enjoyable adventure through Sullivan County’s trails and parks.
Just add water and a snack! Daypacks come equipped with items such as a first aid kit, bug repellent, and sunscreen—perfect for staying prepared, no matter the situation. You’ll also find tools like binoculars, wildlife guides, and resources like maps, trail guidelines, and activities for kids. These daypacks are the perfect companion for discovering Sullivan County’s stunning natural beauty.
Borrowing a daypack is easy—just visit your local library with a valid card and you’re ready to hike. A refundable cash deposit between $10–$30 may be required, depending on the location. Schools will have daypacks available exclusively for their students and faculty.
Join the Daypack Adventure Hashtag Challenge!
When borrowing a daypack, don’t forget to participate in the Daypack Adventure Hashtag Challenge. All participants who complete the challenge will receive a free travel-sized first aid kit (while supplies last) and will be entered for a chance to win an Osprey backpack. Details and a printable PDF of the challenge are available atwww.sullivanoandw.com/daypack-program-officially-launches/ or by navigating to About > News & Updates from the top menu of the Sullivan O&W Rail Trail website.
