A Sullivan County resident of over 40 years, Camille Regholec of Summitville, has once again contributed to the publication of the most recent installation of the Chicken Soup for the Soul: My Wonderful, Wacky Family collection with a short story titled “Trying to Fit In.”

In this short story, Camille’s writing features a humorous retelling of her Aunt Gertrude’s culinary mishap that ended up being the greatest mistake she could make in the kitchen, and how her family couldn’t eat enough of it.

Readers will enjoy the shocking tale that brings anticipation to anyone who cooks, especially for those who rise to the constructive criticism of family members in the kitchen.

“She was a wonderful woman, I loved her dearly,” Camille said of her Aunt Gertrude.

This is not Camille’s first publication within the award-winning and longstanding collection of stories, Chicken Soup for the Soul (CSS).

In 2019, Camille shared a story that found its rightful place among the pages of the collection’s publication “Messages From Heaven and Other Miracles,” where she highlighted a rendition of an uplifting story detailing her experience with outwardly interactions that are a few steps passed coincidental following the passing of a good friend.

As a pastor since 2006, Camille’s faith guides her pen as much as it does her general life. In addition to spending her time as a spiritual leader, she works as security personnel at Liberty’s Care Center at Sunset Lake, and an employee at the Ellenville Public Library.

Chicken Soup for the Soul is not the only published home for Camille’s writings, however, as she has previously published a memoir titled “Relish the Garnish’’, as well as two historical romances.

Camille said that as a writer, she always wanted to be featured in Chicken Soup for the Soul.

“I love their books,” Camille said, “They are all from different areas of peoples’ lives, different times of people’s lives ... to be considered to be one of the 101 authors to be put in a book – it was always exciting to me.”
