Haven’t had a great Kaiser Roll in years. Matter of fact the last time I remember I was enjoying breakfast at the Triangle Diner [no longer there]. I think Stanley Miller tore it down and turned the land into--to be nice--a parking lot.

Walking into the Triangle, past those heavy glass doors your eyes are instantly affixed to those two huge stainless steel coffee makers on the back counter, followed by the aroma of the freshly brewed coffee circulating throughout the building. The cash register and cashier to your left and the large customer counter on your right. May I have two seeded kaiser rolls, extra butter, and hot coffee with cream, please.

Although the Triangle is long gone and the Liberty Diner, just down the road, is good-but it’s no Triangle. Friends tell me the Munson Diner is very good, but do they have two seeded kaiser rolls with extra butter?

That’s all I know.

It’s 4:00 a.m. I’ve been awake since 3 reading yesterday’s newspaper awaiting the Sunday edition which generally arrives now at 5. I like the feel of holding the paper, although each page is now significantly thinner. I like turning the pages, fumbling with the fold over, and karate chopping the pages back into place.

My newspaper is now about 71% ads and about 29% news articles. Seems like it should be the other way around. Understandably the internet and cable TV news has kneecapped the newspaper business.

Watching/reading the news either on my computer or apple phone just doesn’t cut it. It’s gotta be my age.

That’s all I know.

Thinking about a trip to Liberty this summer. Between the Covid Plague and personal health issues, it’s been two and half years since my last getaway. A couple rounds of golf, hours on the lake, and BSing with friends sounds good to me. But thinking about the appearance of Main Street now vs the old days, has me upset.

What the hell is going on?

Living in a very large thriving city such as Phoenix and its surrounding communities, municipal ordinances set strict standards for “the better good”.

Take store front signs for example. Guidelines include, but not limited to; size and height, materials and color, lighting and brightness, and lettering and location.

From what I remember, the signage on most storefronts were a mess. Who is in charge? For Chrissake, someone PLEASE do something.

That’s all I know.
