The Primetimers upcoming outing will be by bus and train

MONTICELLO - The Primetimers, who function as the fundraising arm of Temple Sholom in Monticello, are organizing a fun-filled day trip on Wednesday, July 28. Travelers will leave by bus from Monticello to Kingston’s Westbrook Lane Station, where they will catch a ride on the Catskill Mountain Railroad. The six-car vintage train will chug along for an hour and a half from Kingston through the old cornfields of Hurley Flats. It will cross a scenic railroad bridge and climb the Hurley Mountain. All six rail cars are open air, and capacity is limited to permit social distancing. The flat cars have sun canopies to provide shade. Participants must be fully vaccinated. The excursion motor coach will leave from the parking lot at Temple Sholom lot at 9:30 a.m. For lunch (on their own) participants will have a choice of a variety of restaurants on or around Front Street in Kingston including Chinese, Greek, Mexican, Italian and American, as well as a popular tavern, a diner, and a couple of bakeries. All are welcome. Donation is $60 per person. For reservations, call Paula at (845) 794-2314.
