FALLSBURG — The Town of Fallsburg is proud to announce the launch of a new pop-up food pantry program. The program will be a six (6) month test, aimed at addressing food insecurity in the community. This program is part of the town’s ongoing commitment to supporting its residents during difficult times.

The program is open to all residents of the Town of Fallsburg and will provide access to fresh, nutritious food. The pop-up food pantry will be located at River Valley Estates (Foxcroft Village) during this pilot phase of the program. Based on the use of the program it will rotate between different locations in the town, making it easily accessible to those who need it most.

According to Kathy Rappaport, Town of Fallsburg Supervisor, “The increase in the price of food has highlighted the need for food assistance in our community, and this new pop-up food pantry pilot program will help address that need. We are proud to partner with the Foodbank of the Hudson Valley to make fresh, healthy food more accessible to all our residents.”

The pilot program is made possible through partnerships with local organizations, including the Foodbank of the Hudson Valley, Sullivan ARC, and River Valley Estates.

The pop-up food pantry pilot program is set to begin on Tuesday, May 30th, from 10am – Noon at 3 Piccadilly East Loch Sheldrake, NY. The pop-up will occur the last Tuesday of every month for the next six months. The program will be evaluated at the end of the six-month period, and the town will make any necessary adjustments based on feedback from participants.

“We are excited to launch this program and provide a much-needed resource to our community,” said Rappaport. “We hope that the program will not only address food insecurity but also bring our community together in support of one another.”

Residents of the Town of Fallsburg who are interested in participating in the pop-up food pantry pilot program can find more information on the town’s website or by contacting the Town Hall.
