Tragedy averted in Damascus, PA

DAMASCUS, PA – Paul McKibbins recently contacted the Democrat with an amazing rescue story.

He wrote, “A tragedy was averted last week in Damascus, PA when Rob Moylan’s dog started barking and wouldn’t come when called. The dog ran away from Rob and into the woods where Rob found his neighbor, Eleni, semi-conscious and lying on the ground. Rob immediately recognized the signs of a strokeand carried her to his car then drove to the emergency room at Garnet Health in Callicoon.

“Because of their prompt actions, Rob and his dog saved Eleni’s life. The excellent staff at Garnet were able to administer the proper emergency care and transferred her to Westchester Medical for further care where she’s recovering well.

“True heroes are sometimes hard to find these days. Rob and his dog deserve thanks!

“This story illustrates clearly that we should all learn the signs of a stroke and how to take prompt actions.”
