GRAHAMSVILLE–– The Tri-Valley Bears girls basketball team has made history, becoming their first team to win the Section IX Class B Championship after moving up divisions this season. The Bears secured the Section IX title win with a 40-39 win over the O’Neill Raiders last week.
The Bears dominated the Class B competition this season with players like senior Jenna Carmody, freshman guard Avery Carrier, talented ball handler Jordan Dymond and sophomore guard Allyson Chevalier.
In their first regionals appearance, they took on the 20-3 Yonkers Montessori Academy Eagles this past Wednesday but came up short for the win against the Section I school. They finish the season with a record of 16 wins and 5 losses. Look for game highlights in this Tuesday’s edition of the Democrat.
