HURLEYVILLE - Two local films (Love Lock & Oath to Injustice) will be premiering at the Hurleyville Performing Arts Centre on September 24 at 7 p.m. Both productions were in post production throughout the pandemic and showcase local talent in front and behind the camera.

The productions were also shot almost primarily throughout Sullivan County. The event is hosted by The Catskill International Film Festival and will showcase a few short films from around the World prior to the film’s premiere.

Oath to Injustice is a feature length Drama/thriller about two detectives at odds with one another as they're in pursuit of a serial killer. Every step closer to the killer the detectives find themselves bending the laws to their will and blur the lines of morality they once honored. It is a brutal character driven drama that will keep the audiences guessing until its final frame. Oath is relevant as it highlights the power law enforcement has and how it can easily be taken advantage of.

Oath was finished filming in the Fall 2019 and had its post production stunted due to the pandemic. The premiere had been postponed over a year as the movie theaters were closed or at a lower capacity with strict social distancing guidelines. Much of the cast/crew were unsure if they were ever going to see this film on the big screen.

Love Lock is a short comedy/drama about a man terrified of commitment yet confronted with demons at the most critical moment of his life. It is a hilarious story of consequences and forgiveness- And a picnic from HELL.

Love Lock was filmed in the summer of 2020 under strict Covid-19 guidelines including social distancing, contact tracing, masks, temperatures and more. It was almost entirely filmed outdoors with sanitizer available everywhere on set. For many actors/crew it was the first set they had worked on since before the pandemic began.

Tickets are $5 per person with concessions available for purchase. The first 30 people to attend will get in entirely FREE! Tickets can only be purchased the night of - first come first serve.

The event will start with a brief word from the director/writer of both films, Charles Marinaro and followed by a few award-winning short films from this past years Catskill International Film Festival then the World premieres of the short comedy/drama, Love Lock, then the feature length drama, Oath to Injustice.

After the film’s premiere the audience will have the opportunity to engage in a Q&A session with a few key cast and crew members of both projects.
