Family Fun Day in Livingston Manor

By Matt Shortall - co-editor

Members of the Livingston Manor Rotary served up hot dogs, hot chocolate and fun memories at their recent Family Fun Day last week. From left are Douglas Smith, Jaime Snow, Thomas Babich, Diane Babich, Jannetta MacArthur, Edward Williams and his daughter Sara Williams.
The weather may not have been ideal for the 61st annual Livingston Manor Ice Carnival, but that didn't stop local Rotarians from hosting a Family Fun Day at Rotary Park this past Sunday instead.
Dozens of families showed up to enjoy horse carriage rides, face painting, balloon animals and cornhole games.
Guests were treated to free hot chocolate and hot dogs cooked up by Thomas Babich.
“The ice rink was not usable because of mother nature,” said organizer Diane Babich.
Babich said even thought they cancelled the Ice Carnival, they still wanted to show their appreciation for the community.
“We wouldn't be able to do this if it wasn't for the Town of Rockland, the Sullivan County Youth Bureau, our local businesses and our dedicated rotarians,” she said.

Besides the Trout Parade in June, Babich said they've wanted to offer more to the community during the winter months.
