Faso invites students to participate in art competition

WASHINGTON, D.C. - This year marks the 35th annual Congressional Art Competition, the nationwide high school art contest, which encourages students from across America to showcase their artistic talents.
Congressman John Faso (R-Kinderhook) is encouraging his young constituents to get involved and participate.
“Our district is rich in art history and culture,” said Faso. “This is a fantastic opportunity for budding young artists to showcase their talents and perfect their craft.

Over 650,000 high school students have participated since the competition's inception.
Interested participants must submit their artwork to one of Congressman Faso's district offices by 5 p.m. on Friday, May 5.
Students may only submit one original entry no larger than 26x26x4 inches, including the frame. Paintings, drawings, watercolors, pastels, mixed media, collages, photography or prints may be submitted.
The winner, in addition to having his or her artwork displayed in the Capitol, will also be provided with two round-trip tickets to attend the opening ceremonies of the art exhibit in Washington, D.C., including a luncheon in their honor.
