Sullivan 180 trains new community health champion volunteers

FERNDALE - Sullivan 180 announces eleven new volunteers from different locations in Sullivan County who have committed themselves to become certified “Community Health Champions” with the support of Sullivan 180.
These Community Health Champions, after having completed a certified online training program, will now begin to serve as healthy living champions and coaches for friends, neighbors and colleagues who are ready to improve their health.
Community Health Champions are trained volunteers who work in their own neighborhoods, churches, and civic organizations offering peer health education, tips and motivation for those who want to take proactive steps in improving their health and lives. Sullivan 180 provides the certified training through Talance, a nationally recognized e-learning platform for healthier communities, in four core areas including health education and health coaching techniques.
Community Health Champions who have now completed their training and received their certificates are: Luisa Parker - Callicoon; Maura Caycho - SUNY Sullivan; Brittany Davis - Fallsburg SD; Veronica Sarrano - Fallsburg; Natalie Golonka - Callicoon Center; Roberta Chambers - Monticello; Kelsey Riley - Woodbourne; Jenny Sanchez - Sullivan 180; Ava Bridges - Callicoon Center; Amanda Dirig - Swan Lake; and Debbie Bertholf - Loch Sheldrake.
Current Community Health Champions include: Shanita Artson - Monticello; Kiin D'Astri - Monticello; Dawn D'Auria - Frost Valley YMCA; Karen Ellsweig - Forestburgh; Christina Haff - Youngsville; Margaret Helthaler - Grahamsville; Pamela Jones - SUNY Sullivan; Lori Karadontes - Bethel; Sam Kovalyov - Livingston Manor; Wendy Notice - Monticello; Adele Novick - Woodridge; Carol Park - Roscoe; Jessi-Ann Rosenbaum - Monticello; Angelee Santillo - Hurleyville; Tialisa Whipple - Woodbourne; and Mike Weddle - Monticello.
