COVID-19 funding still available

MONTICELLO -- The Sullivan County Division of Public Safety and the Office of Grants Administration advise local governments and not-for-profits that Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) funding remains available for certain expenses related to the coronavirus pandemic.

The NYS Office of Disaster Recovery is hosting two informative briefings on October 21 and November 4 (both at 1 p.m.) to discuss eligibility for reimbursement for COVID-19 costs like virus testing, medical supplies/equipment, shelters/emergency care, food/water/ice provisions, emergency operations, and security for temporary facilities.

Interested organizations must pre-register at https://meetny.webex.com/meetny/j.php?RGID=rc1d8f43aaa43c54ef12a01bf4194be3f (October 21 session) or https://meetny.webex.com/meetny/j.php?RGID=rd5b8fb66cc7e57f617325bf332bf27de (November 4 session).

“I encourage any of our local municipalities and nonprofits, both public and private, to see what's out there to offset expenses that might otherwise burden their taxpayers and budgets,” Public Safety Commissioner Rick Sauer said. “Either of these webinars will answer important questions and provide the tools needed to apply for reimbursement.”
