CALLICOON -- For over 20 years, the I.O.U. Thrift Shop has brightened the holidays for many families with their Toy Giveaway.

They will be holding it again this year on Saturday December 12 from noon- 2 p.m at the Callicoon Methodist Church on Route 97.

Toy recipients must sign up at the thrift shop by Wednesday, December 9. They're open on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Recipients will be able to come to the side door of the church to pickup toys.

Last year's event helped approximately 100 families.

If you'd like to donate new toys for the giveaway, you can stop by the church and leave them by the side door on Friday, December 11 when volunteers will be working to put the items together.

“It's Christmas time and money is short for people who lost their jobs,” said I.O.U. Thrift Shop President Alice Schlichting. “We do this each year for people in need and this year there are even more in need. And the new toys are wonderful for the kids.”
