SULLIVAN — It's during the holiday season when most people tend to think of those who are less fortunate than themselves. But soon after the celebrating is over, folks get back to their daily cycle, and life goes on.
There are still many people who need a helping hand throughout the year and not only during the holidays.
The Community Lunch Program is looking to help those in need in the new year by providing free soups and sandwiches.
Started by Ruby Gold and Charles Davis, the program has been running for many years is looking to help people in Sullivan County get through the cold winter months.
The soup and sandwich program runs for seven weeks and will held at 10 locations throughout the county.
Most of the food is prepared in the New Hope Community kitchens and is picked up during the week, along with other food items, and distributed to the 10 locations.
If you want to help or donate, contact Fallsburg Community Coalition, PO Box 2021, South Fallsburg, NY 12779.
