Clifford B. Hewlett of Loch Sheldrake, NY a lifelong area resident, died Thursday, April 25, 2024 at Achieve Rehab. and Nursing Facility, Liberty, NY.  He was 88.

The son of the late Walter and Nettie Bowers Hewlett, he was born January 26, 1936 in Hurleyville, NY.

Clifford retired from NYS Department of Corrections in Woodbourne, NY; he did carpentry for many years and even built his own home. He was a former member of the Hurleyville Fire Department and Woodbourne Hunting Club.  He proudly served Our Country in the US Army. Clifford enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing, gardening, snowmobiling, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Eileen Eltz Hewlett, whom he married on August 11, 1962. His children, Kenneth of Honesdale, PA; Karri of Middletown, NY and Kelli of Monroe, NY; two grandsons, Thomas and Clayton; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his son, Clifford Thomas; and all of his siblings and their spouses, Ronald and Marion Hewlett, Chester Hewlett, Grace and James Norwood, Lillian and Richard Hill, Harvey and Charlotte Hewlett, and Walter and Rose Hewlett.

The Hewlett Family would like to extend a “thank you” to the loving nurses and staff at the Achieve Rehab and Nursing Facility for their care and compassion.

Visitation was held on Sunday, April 28, 2024 from 11 AM to 1 PM in the Harris Funeral Home, West St. at Buckley, Liberty, NY. Funeral services began at 1 PM in the funeral home.  Pastor Joseph LeConey officiated.  Burial was in the Hurleyville Cemetery, Hurleyville, NY.
