SULLIVAN COUNTY — On February 4, 2020, deputies in the Sullivan County Sheriff's Jail Division intercepted a subject who attempted to enter the visiting room with a book containing 11 strips of the controlled substance Suboxone.
The suspect, Marc Metzger, 35, of Liberty, NY was turned over to the Patrol Division for further investigation. Metzger was interviewed by the Sheriff's Detectives and admitted to trying to sneak the drugs into the jail for an inmate. Metzger was arrested for the Misdemeanors of Promoting Prison Contraband 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th and Conspiracy 6th.
Marc Metzger was released on his own recognizance under New York's bail reform law and is scheduled to appear in the Village of Monticello Court on February 20, 2020 at 10:30am. The investigation is continuing.
