11th Annual Celebration of the Great Wall of Honesdale is June 13
HONESDALE, PA – Wayne County Arts Alliance would like to invite the public to the 11th Annual Celebration of the Great Wall of Honesdale. The 2026 theme for the exhibit is “American Perspective,” in conjunction with America250. The juried artwork of the following twelve artists is featured from June 2026 until June 2027: Adam Parkes of Greentown, PA; Oxana Kovalchuk of Fort Lee, NJ; Mark Fischer of Honesdale, PA; Lenore Fiore-Mills of Dunmore, PA; Rachel Caudell of Lake Ariel, PA; Elizabeth Tilley of Stroudsburg, PA; Christine Gronwaldt Knoebel of Berwyn, PA; Thomas Colbert of New York, NY; Abigail Ekue of Brooklyn, NY; Archer Long of Waymart, PA; Kayla DeGori of Lake Ariel, PA; and Kathleen Frank of Santa Fe, NM.
Each artist’s original work is digitally reproduced on an 11 x 17-foot panel of billboard vinyl and is on display for one year at the intersection of 4th & Main Streets in Honesdale, Pennsylvania. Art mediums represented this year are acrylic, oil, and watercolor paintings, photography, batik fiber art, and mixed meda. The Great Wall of Honesdale is a project of Wayne County Arts Alliance and is made possible through the generosity of local businesses and individuals. A sincere thank you goes to all of this year’s Panel Sponsors, Wall Patrons, and Project Donors who support the exhibit. A special thank you to Chuck and Wanda Jurgensen of Top-Notch Distributors for providing the exhibit space, and to Glenn Khoury with Encore Outdoor Advertising for another successful installation with a great team. Congratulations to this year’s student artist, Archer Long, a rising junior at Western Wayne High School and student of Justin Hayden.
An opening celebration will take place on June 13 from 2-4PM at the Great Wall of Honesdale (4th & Main Streets, Honesdale, Pennsylvania), to be held rain or shine. There will be a photo opportunity for attending artists with Wayne County Arts Alliance member and photographer, David Soete. A tented reception area will be provided, along with light refreshments. This event is free and open to the public.
