2026 Healthiest Fire Department Challenge Winners Announced!

he 2026 Sullivan 180 Healthiest Fire Department Challenge celebrated eight months of firefighter health, wellness, and camaraderie.

1st Place: Smallwood-Mongaup Valley Fire Department

2nd Place: Livingston Manor Fire Department

Smallwood-Mongaup Valley earned 1st place with their commitment to physical activity, nutrition, and tracking health improvements. Livingston Manor prioritized mental health and community wellness, including nearly 30 healthy food pantry contributions throughout the Challenge.

Challenge Captain of the Year: Katrina Blais of Kauneonga Lake Fire Department was recognized for her creativity and enthusiasm in bringing members together through activities like hikes, kayaking, and Nature Bingo.

Turtle Awards recognized outstanding efforts in specific areas of firefighter health and wellness. Kauneonga Lake, Jeffersonville, Swan Lake, Narrowsburg/Lava, White Lake, and Monticello fire departments were honored for achievements in physical activity, nutrition, mental health, camaraderie, and community collaboration.

Congratulations to all participating departments for making firefighter health and wellness a priority!
