MOUNTAINDALE – Open Studios, under the auspices of "Upstate Art Weekend,” will feature 240 artists who will open their art studios, showcasing their work on May 16-17, 11 am to 6 pm. 3 artists from Mountaindale will participate in this event as well, opening their studios. The artists will give a talk Saturday, May 16th at 1pm at the gallery, 62 Main Street, Mountain Dale.
The studio visits are free to all. A Google map showing the location and website of each artist is available at:

The Grocery Store Gallery, 62 Main St., celebrates Micheline Gingras’s 55 years of painting. The title of her show is “Hand & Foot.” Half of the exhibition is titled, “Hand," where she showcases observations from her NYC Industrial Soho loft in the 70’s. The other half, “Foot,” focuses on her new body of work, made in Mountaindale. These ‘ancestral footprints’ are reactions to the “ICE” malaise that surrounds us. Gingras states, “Man is No/mad, and will always be.”
Raymon Elozua presents his most recent sculptures made of reproduction Tri-Five fenders, steel, ceramic and hand-blown glass. His titles, “55 Chevy Dream@77” and “57 Reality@79” are expressionist sculptures of recycled and discarded materials now esthetically synthesized. His studio is located at 1 Main St., at the intersection of Church Rd. and Main St.
Nicole Helen Brunner is excited to display her brand-new ceramic production. She describes herself as “being a bit braver to step out of her comfort zone.” Her studio is on the edge of town at 27 Paramount Rd., off Mountaindale Rd.
