HONESDALE, PA – The Women’s Club of Honesdale is excited to be celebrating the 61st year of our annual Art and Antiques Show and Sale again on July 12 and 13.

 The club members have been busy lining up great artists, authors and antique dealers to provide visitors with a great selection to choose from along with live demonstrations, appraisal services and, of course, our famous pie! This year we still have copies of our cookbook of recipes that our members have used to provide refreshments at our meetings and also some recipes of the pies and slices of quiche we sell at the show.

In addition several of our members are sharing their art and these items will be for sale also; the very talented group includes Roberta Griffis, Dagmar Bucci, and Bozena Janiszewski. We look forward to seeing old friends and new visitors at the fully air conditioned Wayne Highlands Middle School in Honesdale, at 482 Grove St. Parking is free in the lot behind the school near the covered stairway so follow the signs. Hours are Saturday, July 12 from 10am-4pm and Sunday, July 13 from 10am-3pm. As always, all proceeds from the show are given back to the community in monetary donations as well as funding scholarships to our local high school seniors.

Artists::

The artists lined up for this year’s show are sure to impress!  We have returning regulars you have come to love, Ron Orlando with his wildlife paintings and prints, The Spirit of Gentleness Farms (Christine Bachtel and Jan Marie Traynor) with their hand woven, wet wool, or needle felted pieces including scarves, alpaca socks, and dryer balls, and Mountain Man Arts, Charlie Lang, with even more handmade wood pieces for you to admire and own!  We also have a few popular artists returning from prior years:  Katie O’Neill of Paper Moon Origami with her beautiful sculptural jewelry and Stephanie Marquette of Westwind Jewelry with her beaded jewelry creations.  We are also very excited to introduce the following artists, new to us: Art Lynch of Works of “Art” who creates statement jewelry of chainmaille (think King Arthur days); Tammy Budnovitch of Pysanky by Tammy with her stunning Ukranian eggs, art made from broken egg shells, and nature photographs and cards from her recently deceased artist father, Eugene Maslar; and Robert McGuigan of Golden Bird Art with his pastel art expressing beauty, or sorrow, or aspects of creation.   We’re all looking forward to another spectacular show!

Authors:

For the third consecutive year, the Honesdale Women’s Club Art & Antiques Show will spotlight an exciting roster of regional writers on both Saturday and Sunday. Each author will bring copies of their latest works and will be on hand to sign books and connect with readers.

Featured authors include:

• Tom Lubben – A lifelong educator with over 50 years in roles ranging from coach and classroom teacher to Superintendent of Schools. Tom made his debut as a mystery novelist in February 2022 with *Death Among the Pines*, set in the South Jersey Pine Barrens and steeped in local legend.

• Roberta M. Griffis – A Honesdale native whose gift for storytelling shines in picture books, cookbooks, and adult tales. This year she’s unveiling two new titles delving into the psyche – exploring identity, resilience, and the hidden currents that shape us.

• Mike Gadomski – A professional photographer, filmmaker, and writer based in the Pocono Mountains. Mike’s images have graced hundreds of publications worldwide, and his prose brings the same vivid clarity as his photography.

• Nora Weirich – A dynamic force in contemporary romance, Nora pens swoon-worthy tales that blend richly drawn characters with emotional depth, ensuring readers fall in love again and again.

• Carrie Hatton – Author of ‘Clinically Dead: A COVID-19 Walking Miracle’, Carrie shares her harrowing real-life journey from near-death to recovery. She’ll give a special talk at noon on Sunday, July 13, recounting the science, faith, and sheer willpower that saw her through.

Whether you crave spine-tingling mystery, soul-stirring memoir, or heartwarming romance, you’ll find a story to treasure – and an author ready to personalize your copy. Don’t miss this chance to meet these creative voices and support local talent!
