A Single Bite Event Benefits Sullivan County Nonprofit’s Mission with Real, Local Food

NEVERSINK – A Single Bite is hosting Bowls and Bites, an evening of good food for a good cause on Thursday, March 12 at Hemlock Neversink from 5:30pm–7:30pm. The Liberty-based nonprofit y nonprofit provides free meals to local children and their families, teaches young people to care about the food they eat and where it comes from, while collaborating with schools, pantries, food banks, community organizations, and partner agencies to provide access to healthy, locally grown food.

Founded by Foster Supply Hospitality, A Single Bite distributes healthy food to area food pantries and county schools, continues to provide free, nutritious meals to local families, and supports community health by teaching students to care about the food they eat and where it comes from. The nonprofit supports the nutritional needs of our community by increasing the amount and quality of fresh produce provided to local families, school children, food pantries, and working families in Sullivan County.

The Volunteer Committee of Elsie Kopcha, Regina Clark, Kaitlin Moody, & Ellen Rosenthal is organizing the event with Hemlock Neversink Resort staff for a picturesque evening with delicious food, entertainment, pottery demonstrations, and a silent auction. The proceeds will benefit A Single Bite’s programs, such as the Family Meal Program, which has seen a more than 50% increase in assistance requests over the last 12 months.

Guests will enjoy a cozy evening of soups, stews, and chilis from local chefs. Each $55 donation includes:

• A bowl, crafted by a local artist, to take home

• Pottery-Throwing Demonstration

• Live Entertainment

• Silent Auction and Raffle

A Single Bite’s executive director Audrey Garro said, “We look forward to welcoming friends and neighbors to come fill their bowl to help us fill the bellies of local children and families.”
