ATI is keeping it local for Giving Tuesday

Action Toward Independence (ATI) invites you to participate in “Giving Tuesday” this year with a monetary gift to help keep their local services active in Sullivan and Orange Counties. Initiated in 2012 by Henry Timms, of the 92 Street Y in New York City and the United Nations Foundation, “Giving Tuesday” is observed on the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving. Celebrated by its namesake organization as a "global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world."

Following up on the “shop small” initiative, ATI urges the community to donate locally to keep “kindness on a small scale.” Any donation amount will help ATI continue its mission of promoting “the independence, inclusion, participation, and personal choice of individuals with disabilities. Action Toward Independence advances the independent living philosophy and advocates for the legal and civil rights of individuals with disabilities.” In addition, ATI offers a variety of services and programs that are available to the men, women and children in our community that live with disabilities. Services and programs include but are not limited to: mental health peer support, veterans' advocacy, educational support, benefits advisement, skills training, and more.

There are several ways to donate to ATI. You may send a check to 309 E. Broadway, Suite A, Monticello, NY 12701, or visit the website at www.atitoday.org/getinvolved and click the donate button. Or visit www.paypal.com and search for Action Toward Independence. Action Toward Independence (ATI), Inc.  is a private corporation recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit corporation and is registered with the NYS Department of State as a Charitable Organization. For additional information, call the ATI office at 845-794-4228 or write to ati@atitoday.org.
