SULLIVAN COUNTY– After a very successful basketball season for some of our local teams BCANY has selected all-stars from Section IX that included several exceptional players from Sullivan County. Players and coaches were selected from Classes AAA, AA, A, B, and C & D combined. Selected as player of the year from Class C was Jenna Carmody of Tri-Valley. 

Olivia Gonzalez of Eldred was selected from Class D. Carmody was also named to the BCANY All-Stars Team for Class B; a well deserved honor as she also joined the 1,000 point club this season in TV’s first regionals appearance competing in a new class. 

Gonzalez was selected to the BCANY All-Stars Team for Class C/D. Sullivan West’s Ella Herbert joins Carmody as a BCANY All-Star this season in Class B. Herbert, a small forward, was recently featured in the Democrat’s Player Spotlight.

On the boys side the Section IX BCANY All-Stars for the 2024-25 season features Monticello’s Quenten Liciaga a junior, Liberty Redhawk  Zach Alvord, and seniors Evan Ebert of Sullivan West and Josh Faslau of Tri-Valley. In Class C/D Eldred’s Trai Kaufmann received the BCANY Player of the Year honor and was named as an All-Star along with fellow Yellowjacket teammate James Deyermond. Their coach Bill Furler was named Class C/D Coach of the Year.

The OCIAA Basketball Coaches Association has also announced their boys Division All-Stars.
