Congratulations to this year’s Young Professionals, who are featured in the special tab in today’s paper.

These nine young men and women are an example of what hard work and determination can get you. From working at larger institutions to family-run businesses to healthcare, they are making an indelible mark on the business community.

They are on the path to having great careers and rising through the ranks to achieve greatness.

It’s especially poignant to give them a shoutout, as many business leaders in the county are, shall we say, on the older side.

According to the latest Census data, the average age in Sullivan County is 42.2, which we have to say is a bit younger than expected.

However, this indicates a slightly older population compared to the national median age of 38.8, with around 18-19% of residents aged 65 or older.

Let’s look to mentor these young folks and thank them for choosing to live and work here, a place that many young people try to move away from.

They are not only contributing to their careers, but also building families, and giving their time to other community organizations and charities.

The future is looking bright.
