CAIRO – This past Saturday, the Sullivan West Bulldogs traveled to Cairo to play the Mustangs in a non-conference matchup.
The Sullivan West Bulldogs capitalized on the Mustangs’ errors right from the start when Jesse Milk picked off a pass on the first play and ran it in for a 30-yard touchdown.
Paul Nunnari completed the conversion for the extra two points, and on the next touchdown for the Bulldogs, he ran it into the end zone on a 5-yard carry. Jesse Milk converted the extra two points with a pass, and the Bulldogs never let up.
Another touchdown for the Bulldogs came courtesy of a Milk-to-Dylan Scardefield 75-yard pass. Although the Mustangs managed to reach the end zone for a touchdown, those were the only points the Bulldogs allowed. The Bulldogs scored a fourth and final touchdown before halftime, and in an unexpected turn of events, the Mustangs chose not to return to the field and the Bulldogs claimed a 38-6 victory.
“They never came back out after the half,” Coach Bauer commented, but he was pleased with the way his team played the game.
