LAKE HUNTINGTON – The Sullivan West Bulldogs hosted the Rockland Wolves last Thursday for a beautiful day of baseball in Lake Huntington. The Bulldogs earned a 15-0 home win over Rockland.

Coach Ty Ebert commented on the Bulldog’s huge win after the game saying, “Overall we did alright. Our pitcher had a no hitter except for the final inning and overall, we had good hitting and discipline at the plate. I’m looking forward to getting some more wins this season.”

Senior Alec Hubert delivered a dominant performance, tossing five scoreless innings to earn the win. He struck out 12, walked two, and allowed just one hit, which came with two outs in the final inning. Junior Matt Everett, contributed with two hits and two RBI while scoring three runs. Junior Collin Ebert added three RBI, and junior Ethan Clark crossed the plate four times despite not recording an at-bat.

In the final inning Rockland’s Cooper Antizzo was able to hit a pop fly for a single, his team’s first hit, and Rockland’s final chance to put points on the board before the mercy rule took effect to end the game in the 5th inning. Unfortunately, the Wolves were unable to capitalize on it.

Rockland’s Head Coach Dylan Smith commented after the loss. “It was the first game of the year, and we’re a young team so I’m not too upset. We have Monticello tomorrow and I think that will be a good game. We had a couple of mistakes here and there and it certainly got out of hand tonight, but we just have to clean it up and focus and we’ll be alright.”
