Tate Diehl had four words for his Sunday in Callicoon.
“Lots of big tractors!” the two-year-old pronounced. Dressed in his bright red International Harvester t-shirt, a lollipop clenched in his fist, little Tate was in his glory watching the 30th annual Callicoon Tractor Parade from the Main Street sidewalk.
And he was absolutely right. There were lots of big tractors indeed—247 in all wheeled into town to celebrate three decades of a town tradition.
Leading it all was Parade Marshal Craig Stewart, a longtime volunteer at the Delaware Youth Center, the non-profit that organizes the event each year. Stewart rode in style, surrounded by family on a trailer towed behind a bright orange Kubota tractor.
