SOUTH FALLSBURG — The Sullivan County Dramatic Workshop announces auditions for “A Bad Year for Tomatoes” written by John Patrick and directed by Charlie Redler. This is a hilarious comedy dealing with the very funny misfortunes of a famous television actress who seeks “to get away from it all”  to write her autobiography in a small rural village.

Live auditions will take place at the Rivoli Theatre in South Fallsburg on Wednesday, November 5 and Thursday, November 6 from 7:00 to 9:00pm. Please prepare a short one-to-two-minute comedic monologue. Cold readings from the script will be requested. Please bring a headshot and resumé if available or send in advance to  charlier51@gmail.com.  Zoom auditions will be available by appointment. Callbacks will be via Zoom.

Performances will be at the Rivoli Theatre on the second and third weekends of June or July 2026. Seeking actors for the following roles:

• Myra Marlowe / Sister Sadie – A glamorous, well-known actress trying to enjoy a quiet life; witty, determined. Doubles as her imaginary “mad” sister.

• Tom Lamont – Myra’s loyal agent and friend; smart, urbane.

• Cora Gump – A meddlesome, good-hearted local busybody.

• Reba Harper – Cora’s nosy companion; loud, excitable.

• Piney – A slightly slow but endearing local handyman with a big heart.

• Wrecker – The town sheriff; practical, no-nonsense.

• Willa Mae Wilcox – The town “psychic” or local eccentric.

Casting open to all genders and backgrounds. Ages flexible; roles suited for adult actors.
