LIVINGSTON MANOR – The winter blues are setting in and the groundhog may have said we have more winter to come, but we can see spring on the horizon (way out there!) and anglers are getting ready to get back on the stream. Stay busy to pass the time until the trout are rising to the spring Mayflies with the Catskill Fly Fishing Center & Museum (CFFCM), open most weekends. The calendar is also filling up with other events to get us to that glorious thing called Opening Day.
The CFFCM has its usual celebrations, including Bamboo Rod Casting and Soup in honor of Agnes Van Put. More information to come. In the meantime, join Fly Fest, make a nomination for Hall of Fame, tie some flies and dream on spring!
Fly Fest @ The Rockland House
February 28, CFFCM will host Fly Fest at the Rockland House from 10 am-3 pm. Come tie or watch tyers spin up some bugs! They’ll have raffles, the Catskill Fly Tyers Guild will have merchandise for sale and The Rockland House will have their bar open for food and drinks! It’s a great way to get out of the house and shake off the winter blues. $5 admission to all (including Tyers!). This donation helps to offset the cost of Staff set up and clean up time.
Tickets for the April 10 Fly Fishing Film Festival Now Available. Limited Seats, so reserve yours soon. This exciting event sells out quickly every year.
