Cauliflower Pizzas – ‘Crust’ Me, It’s Delicious!

Posted

Cauliflower pizza is a simple way to put a nutritious twist on a firefighter favorite.

Cauliflower is packed with vitamins, minerals, fiber, and antioxidants, making it a nutritious addition to your meal. Cauliflower supports liver function, improves digestion, and supports a healthy immune system (Cleveland Clinic). Swapping a traditional crust for cauliflower can also help add more vegetables while keeping the meal lighter.

It’s already firefighter-approved! Jeffersonville firefighters led fellow Healthiest Fire Department Challenge Captains in a pizza-making class, packed with fresh vegetables and great conversation. Healthy cooking is one of the many ways departments can earn points while building healthier habits throughout the eight-month Challenge, which ended on August 31. Winners will be announced on September 12 at the Sullivan County Volunteer Firefighters Association Parade in Grahamsville.

Cauliflower pizzas are a great option for busy crews and families looking for something satisfying that supports energy, heart health, and overall well-being. Whether you’re enjoying it after a long drill or sharing it with friends, cauliflower pizza proves that healthy choices can still be fun and flavorful.

You Will Need:

Baking sheet, spoons for toppings

Dry Ingredients

1 frozen cauliflower crust

2 cups shredded mozzarella

1/2 cup freshly grated parmesan

1/4 cup marinara or pizza sauce

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup grape or cherry tomatoes, halved

Other vegetables of your choosing (mushrooms, peppers, spinach, etc.)

Torn fresh basil, for serving

Balsamic glaze, for drizzling

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 425°F.

Place crust on baking sheet.

Top crust with marinara, mozzarella cheese, parmesan cheese, garlic, tomatoes, or other vegetables of choice.

Bake until cheeses are melted and crust is crisp, about 10 minutes.

Garnish with basil and balsamic glaze.
