Deep Water Literary Festival returns to Narrowsburg

NARROWSBURG – The eighth annual Deep Water Literary Festival brings an ambitious lineup of writers, artists, performers, and thinkers from June 19-21 to the Upper Delaware River Valley for a weekend devoted to this year’s theme, Time Shift.

Across three days of conversations, performances, installations, and parties, the festival will explore how literature and art move across past, present, and future—and how stories help us make sense of lives, systems, and histories in motion.

A special opening-night keynote performance, “When Time Breaks,” will be presented by Jad Abumrad, the Peabody Award-winning broadcaster and creator of Radiolab, inspired by the only surviving recording of Virgina Woolf, and exploring what happens when language can no longer keep pace with the age.

This year’s festival features Joyce Carol Oates, Siri Hustvedt, Francine Prose, Amal El-Mohtar, Marlon James, George Packer, Ben Fountain, Fab 5 Freddy, Nghi Vo, Rebecca Lehmann, Quinn Slobodian, Ben Tarnoff, Nicholas Boggs, Robert Moor, Luke Barr, Jamie Hood, Alexandra Auder, Natalie Adler, Hugh Ryan, and many others.

Events will take place at venues across Narrowsburg, including the Tusten Theater, Krause Hall at DVAA, Narrowsburg Union, Maison Bergogne, The 108, and other spaces throughout town. Meanwhile, the third annual Deep Water Independent Book Fair will take over the ground floor of The Shops at Narrowsburg (90 Main St, Narrowsburg).
