Dette Flies provided this notice of an important public informational session for all who fish the Delaware River Tailwaters (East and West Branches of the Delaware): on Tuesday, February 25 at 6:00 p.m. a “virtual” meeting will be held to inform anglers of the new Delaware River Tailwaters Joint Trout Management Plan.
All attendees must pre-register at dec.ny.gov to attend this session.
DEC fisheries managers will outline the major tenets of the plan, which include balancing the need to manage and restore natural populations, while also providing additional recreational opportunities.
Delaware River Tailwaters support a nationally renowned sport fishery for wild trout. The protection and enhancement of this premier fishery remains a top priority for both the DEC and the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission. The plan will guide both agencies in the strategic and science-based management of trout in the East and West branches of the Delaware River, including from the village of Hancock in Delaware County, downriver to the hamlet of Callicoon in Sullivan County.
