Lower Callicoon was bustling with excitement and holiday spirit last Saturday as patrons flocked to the 10th annual Dickens on the Delaware hosted by the Callicoon Business Association.
To get into the holiday spirit, the event was kicked off with caroling by the Sullivan West High School Select Choir.
There was no shortage of activities at the event. Guests could partake in gingerbread decorating for the kids, watching a performance called the ‘Fezziwig Party’ at the Callicoon Depot, or free horse and buggy rides.
In addition, kids got their photos taken with the big man himself, Santa Claus, in the lobby of the Western, provided by Loretta Wolff Photography.
A highlight of the event was the Buck Brook Alpacas, which guests could pet and take photos with. In addition, there was an activity, ‘Holiday Wreath & Felted Trees Workshop with Buck Brook Alpacas and 4-H, that guests could make wreaths with their fur.
Adults could also try Boozy Eggnog and Adults-only Apple Cider, provided by Peppino’s Family Restaurant. Additionally, vendors such as the Seminary Hill Pop-up Cidery and Kevin Hammel Wood Carving were present to get in on the fun.
The Western terrace was also home to more vendors such as Jar of Stars Origami and Earth Known Clay.
Guests could visit the markets along Lower Main Street which had offerings such as Gingerbread Cookie Decorating at the Sullivan West Library.
