Dworestsky Holiday Parade delivers a present to the community

Posted

Despite the fact that a motorcycle riding ‘Grinch that Stole the Christmas Tree’ led the Annual James Dworestsky Holiday Parade last Friday night, more than a thousand area residents lined Main Street, Jeffersonville to get their spirits lifted and kick off the holiday season.

The parade featured dozens of firetrucks from all across Sullivan County, sporting Christmas lights, Santas and enough candy to make even the Tooth Fairy smile.

Also involved in the hour-and-a-half long parade were floats from local organizations, including Red Dog Football, Bulldog football, 4-H, Diehl Me In horseback riding and many other local organizations and businesses.

And if you arrived early enough, Santa and Mrs. Claus were hiding in the Jeffersonville Firehouse, handing out presents and wishing everyone a “Merry Christmas.”

And just as importantly as the parade, the spectators who lined the street were able to visit with friends and neighbors and enjoy a night of true community spirit.
