Spirits were high on Saturday at Farm Fest in Jeffersonville as Hilly Acres Farm and organizers welcomed the community. The event featured farm animals [including day-old piglets], barrel train rides, food, local vendors, agricultural demonstrations and activities for families.
Rain moved through the area during the festivities, but it did little to dampen the mood. Buveas kept the music going with upbeat bluegrass songs from inside a garage as rain came down outside. The impromptu setting only added to the warmth of the afternoon, with music providing a lively backdrop while attendees, undeterred by the weather, gathered under cover for a lunch benefiting Sara Banks, wife of the late John Paul Medina.
Farm Fest demonstrated that when neighbors come together, a rainy Saturday can still turn into a memorable cheerful celebration of local agriculture, music, food and one another.
