Garden Party

Farm-to-table fundraiser for DVAA

Supporters of the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance (DVAA) came together to support the non-profit Narrowsburg-based art organization for its first ever Garden Party, a fundraiser dinner and event under the stars.

Held at Ladybug Land in Cochecton Center last Saturday, it was a sold-out evening of food, music and community.

The event featured a menu created by Chef Mercedes Golip, using ingredients donated by over a dozen local farms and food businesses. Guests enjoyed performances by Odetta Hartman, Julian Giaimo and DJ Anton Esteban, along with a live auction of unique experiential packages. The night closed with a unifying bonfire ceremony, where guests shared written wishes to fuel the flames.

Thanks to the generosity of sponsors, farms, artists, volunteers and attendees, DVAA surpassed its fundraising goal, raising nearly $40,000. Proceeds will directly support DVAA’s year-round exhibitions, performances and arts programs across the Upper Delaware Valley and Sullivan Catskills.

Ariel Shanberg, DVAA’s Executive Director, said, “This past Saturday, we gathered with friends–new and familiar–amidst the magical environs of Ladybug Land to celebrate creativity, community and the power of coming together through the arts.

As we continue to navigate the dramatic changing landscape of public funding for the arts, it warmed our hearts to see so many come together in support of the vital role DVAA plays in our community. From over two dozen generous farms and businesses to the talented Chef Mercedes Golip and the Casa Masa Project, our volunteers, and incredible musicians who lent their talents, it was a true community effort.”
