BETHEL — Bethel Lions Club and Bold Gold Media Group held a golf charity event to raise money for St Jude and for the Bethel Lions Club on August 18, 2025 at the Roscoe Mountain Club. The Bethel Lions Club shared in the funds raised to go to the Bethel Lions College Scholarship Fund, Shepherd’s Food Pantry, and other donations in the community. On October 9, 2025 Golf Tournament co-chair Lion Al Frangipane and co-chair Dawn Ciorciari (General Manager and Director of Sales of Bold Gold Media Group) presented the Bethel Lions Club with a check for $6,000.
With the combined donations of the Bethel Lions Club, the Brandel Murphy Youth Foundation, Past President Lion Al Frangipane in Memory of Lion Maria Frangipane, donated a total of $3,000.00 to The Shepherd’s Food Pantry. The Brandel-Murphy Foundation was set up by past International President Al Brandel and his wife Dr. Maureen Murphy by providing assistance to children in need throughout the state of New York. Tess Coney, co-chair of the Shepherd’s Food Pantry, was present to receive the donation. Ms. Coney said that this donation will go towards a walk-in cooler / freezer that is being installed for more efficient food storage. Shepherd’s Food Pantry regularly provides for 525 needy families. During the Thanksgiving holiday season Shepherd’s Food Pantry serves 90 turkey dinners.
