NARROWSBURG – The Narrowsburg Farmers’ Market invites the public to Harvest Roots: A Taste of Byway Agriculture, a special celebration honoring the rich farming traditions and vibrant food culture along the Upper Delaware Scenic Byway.

Taking place on Saturday, September 27, from 10am to 1pm, this free community event offers a sensory journey through time – from ancestral foodways to present-day farm-to-table abundance.

“Every bite tells a story,” says Market Staff. “This event is about honoring the land, the people, and the flavors that have shaped our region –  and continue to nourish our community today.”

Event Highlights Include:

Sample Bites from Byway Roots – Enjoy complimentary tastes of seasonal favorites inspired by local heritage:

• Heirloom Apple Slices with Sharp Cheddar

• Maple-Roasted Root Vegetables

• Honey-Butter Cornbread

• Thumbprint Cookies with Blackberry Jam

Sip & Savor

•  Aaron Burr Cider will offer pours of two wild-fermented ciders – Sullivan County and Callicoon Creeks – crafted from foraged fruit grown right here in the region.

• Rock Valley Spirits will sample their Forest Fruit Rye Highball, a refreshing cocktail showcasing their handcrafted rye and the wild fruits of the forest.

Then & Now Displays – Interactive signage will explore the agricultural evolution of the region – from Lenape traditions to canal-era farms to today’s growing network of regenerative farmers and artisan food producers.

Celebrate Community – Meet the farmers, makers, and neighbors who bring our food system to life. Discover the resilience, innovation, and care woven into every harvest.

Live Music & Market Fun –

Enjoy local music by The Farmers’ Daughter & Friends, shop the Market’s seasonal offerings, and soak in the festive fall atmosphere. Free and fun for all ages!

This event is made possible with support from the Upper Delaware Scenic Byway.
