They are also diving into the fizzy, flavorful world of “dirty sodas” having a brand-new menu of “Sassy Sips”.
Ashley from the Diehl Homestead Farm is helping her 4-H club, the Moo Juicers, with their food drive. They are accepting any canned goods and nonperishable items. The box for these donations is at her farm’s store. All donations will be greatly appreciated and will be donated to the food pantry at the 1st Presbyterian Church in Jeffersonville.
The Cornell Cooperative Extension is offering The Calf Scholarship Award Program sponsored by the New York State Guernsey Breeders Association for the purpose of encouraging those who do not presently own Guernseys to become involved with the Guernsey Breed. A purebred Guernsey calf will be awarded to the applicant who shows interest in the Guernsey breed and who has demonstrated the capabilities of developing the animal to its fullest potential. Applicants must be age 9-15 as of January 1st of the application year. You do not have to belong to 4-H, FFA, or a breed club to participate. If interested in applying, please email Katie at krl55@cornell.edu for the application form. Due by February 15th.
Save the Date: Saturday, March 8th the Liberty Rotary Club is holding a St. Pawtrick’s Day Party to benefit Catskill Animal Rescue (CARe) at the Bridge and Tunnel Brewery from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. It promises to be a howling good time to benefit our four-legged friends! Admission/donation for Adults is $20 and children are free and includes a hamburger or hot dog and a dessert. Bring your canine companion dressed for the event and maybe win a prize for being best dressed! Come on out, enjoy meeting up with friends and their four-legged friends, take a chance at the raffles and 50/50 too. March 8th a Basket Raffle will be held at the East Branch Fire Hall (located at 29 Bridge Street) at 2 p.m. to benefit Alan Snedeker. Alan has been diagnosed with cancer and not being able to work, is facing increasing medical bills. Basket donations are needed for the raffle and any donations are greatly appreciated too.
