The Sullivan West High School Musical Production Club is bringing Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka to life March 13 & 14 at 7 p.m. and March 15 at 2 p.m. at the Lake Huntington Campus. Tickets: Adults $19, Students $6, Senior citizens 62+ free and Sunday a Family Special 4-pack $24 or 5-pack $30. This magical stage adaption of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory promise imagination, laughter, and unforgettable songs for audiences of all ages so bring the whole family!
The Sullivan West Drama Club is having a Bake Sale Extravaganza on March 9 at the Sullivan West Elementary School. Proceeds will be used to support costumes, props, and cast shirts. Come for the treats and support them!
Reminder: Come to the Diehl Homestead Farm on March 21 & 22 from Noon to 5p.m. for their Pancake & Maple Open House. A family-friendly (outdoor at the farm -dress accordingly) free event and a farm store offering delicious local farm products too. Bring your family and friends for fluffy pancakes and local maple syrup, then learn how maple syrup is made.
The Smith Family II LLC Farm Store, located at 4399 State Route 52 in Jeffersonville, is taking donations of canned goods to benefit the Sullivan BOCES Backpack Program until March 23. You may drop donations at the farm store or by the front door if they are closed.
The Western Sullivan Public Library is hosting “Open Art Studio @ The Library” at their Jeffersonville Branch Friday March 13 from 2-4 p.m. There will be a variety of art stations including painting, watercolor, sketching and more. All to be done at your own pace. No instruction is provided, allowing you to dive into whatever medium inspires you. FMI/Register at 845-482-4350.
New York Statewide Burn Ban is March 16 to May 14. Prohibited during this period is the burning of lawn debris, grass, tree limbs, and building materials – all strictly forbidden.
Remember to set your clocks forward one hour for Daylight Saving Time on Sunday, March 8.
Don’t forget to meet your friends before the Jeffersonville St Patrick’s Day Parade on Saturday, March 14th at the St. George Church (located at 97 Schoolhouse Rd., Jeffersonville) for a delicious Pancake Breakfast! They will be serving from 8 a.m. until Noon. Adults $12, children 5-12 $5 and Under 5 free. Then walk to Main Street and enjoy a fantastic parade at 1 p.m.
